Mirko Tschauner
„Message from Ortega“, 2008
Mirko Tschauner confronts us with the transitory state of the harbour area that has lasted so long. (...) With his sculpture, the artist relates to the topographical situation he found. (...) The obviously casual quality of the sculpture and site, together with its unobtrusiveness, challenge the beholder, forcing them to seek out references – and sometimes even find them. The work of art makes sense in the context of its site, without however answering all questions. But doesn’t that contribute to its special appeal?
