„Der Verdacht”
Conny lives with her husband in a small German village. She has lived there all her life and is strongly rooted in her community. Conny and her husband Udo run a traditional bakery and she sings in the local church choir. She leads a very content and simple life.
Until one day, her husband is questioned about the murder of a young woman found dead three months before. Apparently, he had been the last person to see her alive. From then on Conny’s world is plagued by rumours and the suspicions of her neighbours, family and friends. Her love for him gives her strength to fight the rumours and her own suspicions for a short time.
The short feature SUSPECT is the final graduation project of director Felix Hassenfratz and producer Mathias Casanova at the ifs internationale filmschule köln. The film is set in southern German province with original “badisch” dialect and a co-production with the broadcast stations SWR & ARTE, supported by the film fund Filmstiftung NRW.
